What makes a Training Program Effective?

When it comes to training I think it’s all too easy to get caught up in wondering if what we are doing is going to be effective. Assuming you are free from injury, here are some common things I have found that create an effective training program:⠀

1. Do YOU believe in it?

YOU have to believe in what you are doing. Is it right for you, it might not always be popular and yes there will be days that you may not like as much as others but if you trust the process and stick to it results will happen.

2. Work Hard.

Regardless of what you are doing show up and if you believe in the program, apply yourself and MAKE things challenging, you will see results.

3. Give it time.

We live in a world where we want things NOW. It’s easy to get sidetracked and lose sight of the process. The “other” program looks better, so and so is doing that, this feels too “simple," the list can go on. The truth is that if you want to see what a program is going to do for you, it’s going to take somewhere between 6-10 weeks to really see what kind of gains and improvement you are going to make. All too often we are fickle and don’t give things a chance. This goes back to YOU believing in the program.⠀
